Spider Cookies

This is a repost, but I thought it was worth showing again, especially since I have a lot more followers than when I showed this the first time:

When I saw the SpiderWeb Cookies on Bakerella, I knew we had to make them. Looked cute and easy, requirements for me. Hers look more polished, but mine were sure yummy, and I had little helpers. I used a friend's chocolate chocolate chip recipe for the cookie - it calls for canola oil instead of butter, so it's healthy, right? For the icing I heated it up a little so it would drag smoother. Go make some!  Here's the link: http://www.bakerella.com/trix-out-your-treats/ Super fun, super easy, super yummy.

Update - my friend Renee just started a recipe blog, Sweet Enough
Here is her recipe for Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookies (we love to make them with Andes Mint Chips added - yum!!)

2 C sugar
½ C canola oil
2 tsp vanilla
4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
4 large eggs
2 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 C chocolate chips
(optional: mint baking chips)
Powdered sugar

Mix sugar, oil, vanilla, and chocolate in large bowl.  Mix in eggs, one at a time.  Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.  Stir in choc chips.
Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hrs.
Shape into balls and roll in powdered sugar.  Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350° 10-12 minutes or until middle is almost set.  Remove from cookie sheet.  Cool.  Store in freezer and serve frozen.

  2. You had me at Andes Mints:) I was stopping over from Craft-o-Maniac. I loved this idea when I saw on Bakerella last year, but then forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.
