Butterfly wall - with Lifestyle Crafts

Another show-off with Lifestyle Crafts and my Epic 6 die cutter - but remember, Lifestyle Crafts dies are compatible with most die cut machines.  Remember you can get 20% off with the code SUGARBEE.

(yep, it's still Take-A-Look Tuesday - just scroll down a post for that!)

I knew just what to do with the butterfly die cut when I saw it....

I have seen several butterfly walls in bedrooms recently and thought it'd be perfect for my girls' room.  Most recently I saw the one over at Living with Punks - isn't it cute?? (see all about the amazing room HERE)

She hand-cut all her butterflies - I used the die cut which made it go pretty fast.  They come out of the die cut with dotted lines where you can fold the shapes to give them a more dimensional shape - how easy is that?!!
The butterfly came in 3 pieces - top wings, bottom wings, and body.  I used hot glue to attach the wings to the body.  Pretty easy and straight-forward.  On the left is unassembled and on the right is the butterfly all put together:
See how the folds make them 3D - I love that part:
To hand them I just used a glue dot stuck to the back of the body part.  That part sits flat on the wall while the wings are folded out.
 A couple of on-the-wall shots:
The longest part of this project - picking up the girls' room so it was suitable for pictures!  I swear I was up there for hours - time stood still....

And since I was up in their room taking pictures, and the floor was visible, I turned around and snapped one of the Cheap Giant Print so you can see that it's still holding up and not fading or anything:
I wanted a quote about butterflies, but ended up going with a simple "SOAR" that I cut out of vinyl - and wowza, it sure is hard to take a picture with a bright window right in front of you...

Anyways, back to the die cut - - it makes it so easy to mass produce things like butterflies!  Crank the paper through (I used cardstock, double-stacked so I could cut 2 at once), fold on the preset lines, glue and done!  There's a whole new line of fun spring die cuts over at Lifestyle Crafts, so be sure to check it out (and remember, discount with the code SUGARBEE)

Really cute! If I had a girl I'd totally do this. Maybe with boys you could do airplanes? Birds? dragonflies?

Gorgeous!!! I love butterflies! Would freak out some family members if I put any up though......=D

Do the Lifestyle Crafts Dies work with Sizzix machine?

I love this! This would be great above my daughter's door....or on the wall behind her door. THanks!

So cute and so girlie!!! Love the colors against the purple wall!

I would love to know where you got the vintage pink bunk bed...I've seen single beds like this. Love the butterflies too! :)

I got the bed from my sister-in-law's neighbors who were going to throw it away on the curb!!! So glad I could rescue it!

If you mean the Cricut machine, no. Those only use the cartridges. The folders can be used in the Cuttlebug machine from ProvoCraft, though.

Does it damage the wall glueing the butterflys on it? I want to do this for my baby girl above her crib but I'm renting and don't want to damage the walls any ideas? Also love the picture btw!! I'm so going to do it!

Love your big picture idea. One complaint....too many ads and pop ups on here! Took me FOREVER to follow your instructions because I kept trying to dodge your pop up ads! Ugh!

Hey Wendy - - can you tell me what kind of ads they are?? I'm not seeing them on my end and I for sure don't want pop-ups!
