SNAP - Your Style

These are notes from the classes I took at SNAP and are obviously the things that stood out to me, things I want to implement, etc - check out their blog for more info on the sessions, better pictures, fun times, etc.

I took the class called Defining and Discovering Your style.  Again I'll divide my notes by who on the panel was speaking.  Another jam-packed crowd for this one.

Ana White:
--Style - the way we something - BE YOURSELF (everyone else is taken)
--Passion is at the core of your blog
--What a better life for my family - so improve my home

Shelley Smith:
--Style is so different for everyone
--Find your craft story - how much will you share
--Pictures tell a story but they don't tell a reality
--Confidence in your style - get inspired by your own creations ("A Cheerful Welcome")
--Taking Risks
--My blog is my life - intertwined
--Spending $ to make $ - blogging can be expensive
--Step out of your comfort zone (HGTV)
--Inspire people - find who you are so you can inspire others
--Create positive spaces to lift each other up - use your voice for good

Emily - Decor Chick
--thrifty decor
--mix your styles (ex: modern and vintage)
--all in the details - moulding, beadboard, frame fabric
--decorate for you, not your audience - you live in your home, not them

Kate - Centsational Girl
--Style is the unique and confident expression
--Your home is your haven - express your personal style
--Eliminate what you don't like
--Hone in on your personal style and express it confidently
--Map out your vision - home and blog
--Learn It, Do It, Share It
--Liveable and Relateable homes - a glimpse of real life
--Life on Display
--Styling and Photography

  2. Thanks so much for sharing everything you learned. Out of the hundereds of blogs that I follow who went, you are the only one sharing what they learned! Thanks a BUNCH! And I hope to see you there next year. :)
