Chocolate Bark – Life According to Lina

I’m Lina, and although I’m very new to blogging, I really enjoy it! I’m starting out slowly and having a lot of fun promoting giveaways, writing reviews, and sharing recipes and tutorials! Come and stop by Life According to Lina!

Today I’m sharing the recipe for Chocolate Bark. My family loves whenever I make this dessert! It’s quick and so easy, and is perfect to take to get-togethers or eat at home. The saltiness of the crackers mixed with the chocolate is a perfect combination every time! You will need:

  • Saltine Crackers (about 42)
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 12 oz. Chocolate Chips (2 cups)
  • Walnuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Sugar

Line cookie sheet with foil and spread out saltine crackers. My medium-sized cookie sheet could fit 42 crackers, so I laid out a 7×6 grid. In a saucepan or microwave, melt the butter. Mix the sugar in well. Pour over saltines and spread out with a knife. You may want to use your hands – I find it’s easier for me. All the crackers don’t have to be covered, as the mixture will spread a little, but most should have some butter and sugar on them. Bake at 350° until bubbly (3-5 min.). Remove and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the crackers. Put back in oven so the chips melt, about 3-5 minutes, then spread out the melted chocolate evenly. In a separate bowl, mix the salt and sugar together with 1/2 teaspoon of water. Sprinkle the bark with the walnuts and the salt and sugar mixture.
Refrigerate for about an hour. Break into pieces.
