My name is Katie, and I blog over at Katie{Did}It. I talk about all kinds of things, but mostly, I blog about the crafts and DIY projects that I do. I would love for you to stop by and say Hey some time!
Are you all as excited as I am for Christmas to be here? Cause I can't wait. I love all the baking, decorating, and lights of course! And I obviously love doing hand made gifts and crafts for the holidays.
What You'll Need:
Flour Sack Kitchen Towels
Fabric of your choice
Fabric Paint
Scissors
Paint Dobber (I'm pretty sure that's the technical name for it)
Stickers
Fabric Glue (Machine Washable)
And do you know what one of the best parts of this is? It can actually be machine washable. That's right. So let's get started.
First you will want to choose what word you want to spell. Fold your flour sack towel in half long ways, and then again width wise. Put your stickers about in the middle of the towel and press them down really well. You don't want any paint seeping through. Now take your paint dobber and just make a little rectangle around your word.
Pretty easy! Once you finish that strip, you'll move on to your next one. I use my scissors to keep the other ruffle up so it doesn't get in my way as I'm gluing down the next ruffle. Once you have both of your ruffles on (or however many you decide to add), you're almost done!
The paint should be mostly dry now, so you can go ahead and peel off your stickers. If you're afraid it will run, or if you used a lot of paint, wait until it is completely dry to take the stickers off.
Voila! You have yourself a no sew, "stenciled" kitchen towel that is perfect for gifts, or for just brightening up your own kitchen! Yay! Make sure you stop by and see what else I do with these kitchen towels to dress them up a little.
Thanks so much for welcoming me here today, and I really would love to see you over at Katie{Did}It some time! Here are a few of my other favorite projects:
See ya'll around!
