Michael's MiDesigns

Did you know that Michael's does custom cards, napkins, photo books, etc??  I didn't know about it until I attended the Micahel's Blogger Event this summer - and I took picture of it because I was amazed:

Well Michael's gave us the chance to try out MiDesign @ Michael's - - so fun!  There are two different sides to it - - the Photo Creations or the Custom Invites - be sure to explore both - I know I did.  Right now they have some super deals going on, so jump on that!

Let's talk Photo Creations first - - I made a photo book for my Grandparents - - they didn't have any current pictures of all their great-grandkids together, so that was my goal:

I gave it to them early at Thanksgiving because we won't see them at Christmas and it was a big hit.  They both said it was a treasure and were very excited about it.  I made them a book a few years ago when my kiddos were the only great-grandkids, and they comment that this book was nicer quality the other one - so thumbs up MiDesigns!

Sometimes putting together a book can seem overwhelming - placing and arranging all the pictures and stories, etc.  I made mine super simple -- the first few pages and the last page were pictures of the group of kids.

And then in the middle of the book, each child had a 2-page spread with a headshot and then a pulled out shot.  The only text in the book were the names of the kids.  I let the pictures speak for themselves.

So when you go to make a book this holiday season, remember that less is more.

Now, on to the custom card side - - I made my Christmas Cards using a Photo Folders card called "Merry and Bright" - again, the quality is amazing.  The card is thick and the colors are vivid - everything you want in a card.  And I really enjoyed that lots of their designs to choose from were ones I hadn't seen before.

 I loved this one because there were so many places to put pictures.  Here's the breakdown - you have a cover picture, then you open it up to see another picture, then you open up the third flap - - I have a visual for you, in all 3 steps:

 I already have sent a couple on their way!  Now, to address the rest....
