The whole idea is that we need to set aside time each day to create. Make the time and it will happen - - they put it so well - read this: CRE8TIME is a movement, a movement supported by a group of people who want to make a positive social change. As our lives become increasingly crowded with “responsibilities,” we tend to ignore ourselves and find it difficult to justify creative pursuits; they seem “selfish” and are often the first things we discard. It’s time to reclaim our creativity! CRE8TIME is a movement, a movement supported by a group of people who want to make a positive social change. It is designed to help people recover eight hours a month and devote it to their particular craft, and to create a place for them to share their experiences – the joys, lessons, and results – with the creative community at large.
I am so excited to put this idea to work. To really MAKE time each day to create. Sometimes I will work several days on computer-only blog stuff. And I can tell it drags me down - when I actually get out from the computer and MAKE something, all is better. Do you feel the same way??
So - - I went on a shopping spree at Michael's - check out this load:
And you know me - I love quick, simple projects, so I have cranked out a few of those to show you...
First off, I got this awesome pan - - it's like shallow mini cupcakes. I've had push pop things forever but never knew what to put in them that wouldn't be tons of work - - this fit the bill!
Project #2 - - scarf organization. I picked up this handy rack at Michael's for only $5. You could paint it or stain it, but I kept the raw wood.
Project #3 I'm not going to do a full reveal on yet, but it involved hanging up some things in our master bedroom. Which I repainted and didn't finish the decor from about a year and a half ago. I made that Wall Art Quote a year ago and it's been sitting on the floor waiting to be hung up all this time. So nice to get things done!! I will tell you that I used some peacock feathers that I found at Michael's and they added the perfect finishing touches.
I've got a big project in the works that I hope to finish up this week - - it's really stretching my creative juices and I hope it turns out like the vision in my head. It involves those canvases perched on top of my Michael's cart that you saw above. Can't wait to tell you about that idea - stay tuned!
